Vision of the Society

Why do we exist? 

We believe that all humanity is created with the desire for a deep, loving relationship with the Trinity and one another. We exist to invite everyone to discover and live into that reality. 

What is it that we do? 

We provide transformational opportunities and resources for leaders and learners to grow in deepening intimacy with the Trinity and one another.

How do we do it? 

We provide exposure to the rich, historical and biblical traditions of spiritual formation and direction. We do this by providing spaces to experience relationship with Jesus in community that encourages life in Christ and ministry with Him.

Our Understanding of Spiritual Formation

In simple terms, we believe that God is always at work in shaping us into the image of Christ. He is the initiator of our relationship with Him, and we are shaped as we pay attention to what He is doing. Attentiveness is developed through spiritual disciplines and God’s grace.

WHILE OUR EVENTS ARE OPEN TO ALL LEARNERS AND LEADERS WHO ARE DESIRING TO GROW DEEPER IN THEIR INTIMACY WITH GOD, WE ALSO AIM TO BE A SUPPORT FOR THOSE INVOLVED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS OF SOUL CARE:

  • spiritual directors
  • leaders in ministry
  • pastors/ministers

Statement of Belief (Nicean Creed, 325 AD)

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made; who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And we believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for [that acknowledges] the remission of sins. And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
